Dark Moon Banishing Ritual

Many of my clients talk about a lack of time to connect with themselves. Hence why they come sit in the Alchemy space with me! However, I encourage them, and you, to make time everyday for a meditative practice.
Those who think the world is ending on the Dark Moon would be correct if they were talking about the spiritual aspect of it's significance. The Dark Moon reminds us to push away, expel, banish and in effect, end those things that don't serve us anymore during this time.
This can be a small gesture or a large one in your life: from the simple act of cleaning out your cabinets to facing a long time habit or addiction that is holding you back from a clear lifepath. It can also serve for getting clarity about yourself and simplifying areas of your life that seem chaotic. I recently went through a tremendous banishing in my life by facing all the things that were making my life unhappy, chaotic, or complicated and finally moving away from them. We don't mean to get ourselves in these ruts. I consider our life like a closet. We accumulate junk only to store it the attic or basement of our soul. In time, all the bric a brac we have collected stands in our way of our true nature. On a regular basis we need clear it out and ship it off to good will. Banishing rituals are excellent for this and the Dark Moon calls us to the altar for a deep cleanse.
Ritual is highly personal. It needs be created for you individually, with your tastes and spiritual beliefs, or lack of belief kept in mind. In the Alchemy space we take time to figure out what that is, and what would best serve you. A special client requested that I also share some simpler and quick "recipes" online for those just starting to dabble. If you are an advanced practicioner, this won't be for you!
The Dark Moon is a great place to start because before we can never attract and manifest things to our life, we first need address the things that are blocking it.
This is from my Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/alchemyrituals/
For the Dark Moon, if you can get yourself to a natural water source, do. If not, gather these items:
Bowl of natural water
Salt
Candles in color choices that speak to you, though black is preferred for banishment
Pen
Paper
Earth to bury the paper in
Before any ritual, do a grounding meditation. Clear your mind of anxious thoughts or thinking on past or future. Get yourself to the now. Counting deep breaths is a great quick way to do this. Place a little salt in the water, and in another spot create a mound of dry salt (could be on top of a rock, or make a small hole in the earth). If inside, use a bowl with salt in it. Write down what you want to banish/release and then fold into a small square. Dip into the water til wet but not shredding, then place on top of the salt. Eventually you are going to be burying this in earth. Now light the candles, and simply say to yourself or outloud what you want to be done with. Do this for as long as it takes for you to FEEL the energy shift around you. Ritual is always about your own power within, and the honoring of the natural world around you to draw upon to maximize that power. Do not be surprised if rituals bring about emotional responses in extreme ways. Energy shifting like this will dislodge what has been storing up. Crying during banishing rituals is common as the releasing deepens in your psyche. Let those tears flow. Sometimes the opposite happens, grand laughter and elation. I have seen clients start dancing and whirling around as the weight was lifted from them. Don't hold back anything that wants to come out and up. This is about release. Don't let your ego impede the process. And trust me, it will try.
When you feel you have connected and accepted with this power, gaze up at that beautiful Dark Moon with gratitude for this private and special moment. It is good practice to begin and end rituals with gratitude to whatever or whomever in your life that empowers you. You can languish in the feeling of this ritual for as long as you like.
When ready - take your water, salt, and paper and find an appropriate place for burial. You can do while still in ritual if location allows. When burying: in mantra style, say what you are done with. Cover the paper, water and salt fully. You may want to place something in with the burial that is a momento of the thing you are banishing or on top of it once covered to seal the intention.
Snuff your candles (don't blow them out), and turn your back on the spot and leave the area. Its not a place you are ever going to revisit.
If you are a quick manifester like me, you will notice a difference right away, but some things take a bit of time. Doing this ritual on a dark moon or waning moon or new moon is appropriate, do as often as you need to expel the things in your life that keep you from your path.
Deep Blessings & Happy Ritualing!
