Get Grounded

There is a current of fear wherever I turn these days. The socio-political platforms upended in America after the long anticipated election decision sees to this. I have only witnessed 7 or 8 elections in my lifetime, but I cannot recall one so volatile. I won't speak to the political choices of this country, I am not a political animal. However, I would like to address the current of fear running through the veins of our country. It seems a devolution is taking place, moving ourselves back to our base natures and our prehistoric past. The 'gather, hunt, fear other, this is mine' attitude is a far cry from the expansion of consciousness we have been privvy to here in the westernized world since the sixties. As an empath, it felt almost overnight, this turning away from our higher selves to fear based thinking. I am watching too many take the low road in their thoughts, their words, their actions. And it is happening because people are afraid, more so now, than I have ever seen them in my almost fifty years on earth.

It is simple. The universe was created through MIND. Everything in the Universe is MENTAL projection. We are a part of the universal MIND, and therefore subject to the laws of MIND and MENTAL projection. What we think on, we will create. It is absolute. So many I speak with are "sick" of how things are in this world. and yet so few are aware of why things are the way they are in this world. Very few of us face ourselves and do a scan. How many negative thoughts did I have today about myself, about others? How many times did I show intolerance, impatience, entitlement? How many resources did I use without thinking about their source? How many people were put out today by anything I did or said? Equally important is to take stock on the things you do to love yourself, ground yourself, be rational rather than overly emotional? Did you smile at someone, help someone, tell someone you love them, hug someone? Small acts, global stage. I know so many that are doing so much good. But even they too, are falling under the spell of fear.

Don't.

Each of us can only be responsible for ourselves; our thoughts, our words, our actions. And these things matter! What we think, what we say, what we do. It is ALL that matters, because it creates the world around us. One negative thought has a ripple effect exponential. "Be The Change You Wish To See In The World" is not just a lovely bumpersticker saying. It's the only way.

Granted, there are those whose idea of change in this world will certainly bring harm and destruction to many species as well as social and cultural groups. We can't fight their intolerance and ignorance with fear. Of that we must be sure. This is the time to be even more resolute in who and what you are. Is survival of your body's security more important than survival of your spiritual beingness? Don't let anyone take from you what is your personal Beingness. Stand strong in who you are. No fear, no doubt but always with the underlying cause of harm to none.

There will always be bullies. How we respond to them is what matters. Fear will only lead us right to the things you don't wish to happen. Fear is a powerful energy force, it can do a great deal of damage in a short amount of time. We create what we fear. It is as absolute as that. If you really want to see change, start with yourself. Take action.

We need get a grip on these fear based thoughts, words, and actions. We need get a grip on our emotional reactions to what we witness in this world that angers us, upsets us. When grounding ourselves in a base of compassion and love we create far more the beauty we wish to see in this world. We can't hate the haters. That is hypocrisy. Ignorance is not a crime, it is a cry for help.

Victor Frankyl, author of A Man's Search for Meaning, suffered great personal loss during the holocaust. Facing the horrors of the Death Camp everyday, one struggled to just keep sane and alive. Frankyl found ways to do more than that by realizing that those who oppressed him, could never take what was his own. His mind, his words, his actions. He was solely responsible for his responses. They were going to do what they did, regardless. He fought from within and won.

I encourage us to all look within and decide who we want to be in this world. This most precious choice affects everything and everyone around you. Every minute of every day. Choose wisely.
